Students involved in classroom and extracurricular activities with the SHS Theatre Department will learn confidence, self-discipline, problem-solving, responsibility, and teamwork that will prepare them for success in any subject at the post-secondary level. Courses are held in Room S9 and taught by Mr. Dustin Hensley.
The following classes are offered at SHS:
- Theatre
- Technical Theatre
- Theatre Productions – This course requires extra-curricular participation, and allows students to qualify for Varsity letterman’s jackets through their participation in UIL One Act Play.
Performances are held in the fall and spring at the Smithville Elementary School Cafetorium, located at 800 Bishop Street.
