‘Cinderella Waltz’ Public Performances

Rosey Snow is a perfectly normal 1980’s teen who’s stuck in a life that is by turns funny and a bit demented. She has an attention-hungry stepmother, two stepsisters – one who’s perpetually depressed and one who’s not too bright, and a father who just can’t seem to find his pants. Throw in a bewildered prince, a nervous troll, an eccentric fairy godmother, and a possibly homicidal village idiot, and you’ve got an improbable fairy tale that ends up turning the whole Cinderella archetype on its head. Grotesque farce and romantic fantasy blend in this hilarious story that’s fun for the whole family.

Cinderella Waltz is the 2023 UIL One Act Play contest piece for the Tiger Theatre Troupe, and per competition rules runs in just under 40 minutes. Performances will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 7 pm and Sunday, March 26th at 3 pm at the Smithville Elementary Cafetorium (800 Bishop St.). Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at: http://www.spicket.events/smithville.
